Pickerel Lake
New lakefront home built on a wooded lot in northern Michigan, designed to emphasize the lake views and provide a versatile space for daily living as well as large gatherings of family and friends • Three fireplaces—two inside and one outside facing the lake—are served by a large stone chimney • Another key design element is the “hinge,” which contains the mudroom and an open staircase that connects the upstairs gym, craft room, and sports lounge to the three-bedroom guest wing via a loft and a sunlit library overlooking the lake • The staircase windows reflect the design of “The Shack,” a small cottage on the property, also designed by Wilcox Architecture and built in 2006 • Additional first-floor amenities include a primary suite, heated screened porch, outdoor shower, sauna, laundry, pet shower, office, and den • This one-of-a-kind home was thoughtfully designed in collaboration with the owners. | Builder: Sean Meyer Construction | Interior Design Consultant: JL Miller Interior Design | Landscaper: North Star Gardens
